An Overview of the ASCD Activate Professional Learning Network

A graduate of the University of Texas-El Paso, Nydia Magdaleno-Gonzalez has worked in education for more than a decade. She recently launched NMM Educational Consulting, LLC, a Texas-based consultancy that helps teachers and schools implement educational best practices. Throughout her career as a teacher, administrator, and educational consultant, Nydia Magdaleno-Gonzalez has actively participated in professional organizations such as the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).

In addition to sponsoring a number of educational events throughout the year, ASCD offers a variety of learning programs and resources to help educators improve their professional knowledge and skills. One of the organization’s valuable resources is ASCD Activate, a professional learning network that helps education teams meet school or district needs.

With an annual subscription to ASCD Activate, schools of all sizes can take advantage of ASCD’s suite of educator resources, including books, videos, and online courses. The program also gives members access to webinars, newsletters, and ASCD’s flagship publication Educational Leadership.

Other benefits of joining ASCD Activate include memberships in ASCD myTeachSource and ASCD EDge, an online community where educators collaborate and share resources. Annual subscription rates to ASCD Activate range from $1,599 for small schools to $4,599 for schools with 75 or more teachers. More information about the network can be found at www.ascd.org.
